CROWN GREEN BOWLING
The Queens Bowling Club plays socially on the far corner of the Queen’s Playing Field diagonally opposite the village hall on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings (6pm)& on Sunday afternoons (1pm). A team also plays in the Chester over 60's Bowling League on Tuesday & Friday afternoons

Christleton Indoor Bowling Club play at Waverton village hall every Thursday afternoon starting at 2.00pm until 4.00pm from October to March. Cost is £2.00 per session, tea and buscuits provided. MORE PLAYERS WANTED.
On Thursday evenings from 6.30pm - 8.00pm there is a JAFFA (Jesus A Friend For All) Club at Waverton Evangelical Church - Eggbridge Lane for all school years 4-6. Activities include fun games, crafts, singing and learning. For more information contact Andrew on 07789 271268.

LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY
The Local History Society meets in the Burley Memorial Hall on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from September to April at 7.30pm with talks on historical & local subjects and research into Waverton history.
In May & June there are outdoor meetings.

Have you time to spare on Wednesday mornings? We have just the answer for you, time for coffee and a chat plus an interesting speaker. Men’s and Women’s meetings are on alternate weeks on a Wednesday at 10.30am at Waverton Evangelical Fellowship - Eggbridge Lane. Join us for an hour. If you have difficulty walking we will take you by car. If you need transport, please contact Brian or Mavis on 01244 335318.

WAVERTON HANDBELL RINGERS
Meet on Mondays evenings from 7-9pm and Thursday afternoons from 1:30 - 3 pm at the Waverton Fellowship on Eggbridge Lane.
We are an active team of 13 and enjoy playing for others and many different organisations.
We are available for weddings, christenings and the like on a fee basis.
Each Thursday in term time we have a Toddler group from 10-12am. Everyone with pre-school children are welcome, from the tiniest baby up to the more mature pre-schooler! There are lots of toys, activities and a singing time to keep them entertained.

A place to learn more about the Christian faith with other young people. Activities include prayer, bible reading, discussions and games. There is opportunity to ask questions and learn from other young people. The topics covered are wide ranging and young people involved in planning the program.
CRUNCH Lunch Club
(weekly in term time)
CRUNCH is a club for young people who attend
and who are interested in the Christian faith. We meet together during lunchtime and after an ‘icebreaker’ game, spend a few minutes looking at a particular topic. The young people are involved in developing the program.
T.F.T. (That Friday Thing)
(weekly in term time)
An open youth club providing pool, table tennis and video games, football, crafts and a tuck shop. In addition we support the regional SPACE youth events, Urban Saints National football competition and Link Up ENGAGE youth activities.
During the evening we include a short time where we meet together to share information and encourage the young people to think about a relevant topic relating to the Christian faith.
Residential Weekend away (yearly)
A residential weekend where we enjoy fresh air, good food and lots of exciting adventurous activities. Popular activities include trail cycling, zip wire, high ropes, canoeing, crate climbing and archery. There are wide games, group sessions and much, much more! These weekends are always one of the highlights of the year.

Youth band is for young people who are interested in using and developing their musical gifts within the life of the church. The band leads worship regularly and has a wide range of instruments and singers.
A service led by young people for young people. These services include contemporary worship, creative prayer and teaching. It is a place where young people develop friendships and be a support to each other.
IMPRESSIONS ART GROUP
We are a group of enthusiastic painters (strictly non-commercial!) who meet each Monday morning in Waverton Evangelical Church Hall. We are not ‘experts’ but meet to enjoy and celebrate the artistic gifts we have and to encourage each other to develop them. Most people work with water colours but some enjoy pencil drawing. AFC WAVERTON JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB
AFC Waverton Junior Football Club was formed with the aim of providing an opportunity for all local primary and secondary school children to play football. From the outset we have been affiliated to the Cheshire FA and initially we began with a core group of approximately 20 players. However, the club has grown a lot since then and we are now one of the biggest junior football clubs in Chester with almost 180 registered players across the age ranges - and we are still growing.

WAVERTON GOOD READ AWARD
Waverton gives an award to the best British debut novel published in the previous twelve months. The competition is in two stages:
From October to late March, a team of villagers (over 100 at present) read and review all the books submitted by publishers. A shortlist of 5 books is chosen.
From April to July, the shortlisted books are put in boxes around the village and everyone is invited to read them. Books can be found in the post office, the hairdressers, church halls, the primary school and the village hall. The winner is announced in July and an award dinner held the following October.
Waverton Good Read holds regular evening meetings when authors are invited to speak about their work.
Waverton Wives was started 38 years ago for the ladies of Waverton. For sometime now we have realised that we needed to update our name but finding the right one has been a big challenge. We hope our new name will appeal to all ladies of any age and status.
Our new name is WAVERTON CHATS (Coffee hospitality and talks)
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month in the Burley Hall, Waverton at 8pm, usually with a talk or supper, all very informal.

Waverton Under 5’s is a group run by mums, for mums with pre school children.We pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming to everyone who cares for pre-school children, including childminders, pregnant mums and those with newborns!! There are lots of activities to keep your little ones entertained from our baby corner, to ride on toys and dressing up to name just a few. We also offer a craft activity and refreshments for everyone.

Burley Hall Bridge Club hold friendly duplicate Bridge sessions every Monday at Burley Memorial Hall, Old Waverton,
CH3 7QN with play starting at 7pm and finishing at 10pm. New playing members are welcome. NB This is not a beginners club.
Women’s Institute Waverton Women’s Institute was founded in 1926 and offers a monthly programme of speakers on a wide variety of different topics. Meetings are held in the Burley Hall at 7-30 p.m. on the first Wednesday in the month, throughout the year.
